Shropshire's newest Falconry Centre has already added to its number having acquired its first "adoptee". The British Ironwork Centre, in Oswestry, was approached by the owners of a beautiful red tailed buzzard, for which a new home was desperately being sought.

'Tunes from the Trenches': A free family musical commemoration of World War I at Enginuity

On Saturday 25 October 2014 the Stringcredibles, a quartet of CBSO musicians (City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra) will be performing 'Tunes from the Trenches' at Enginuity, one of the ten Ironbridge Gorge Museums, to commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.

Coast to Coast walk through the largest inland county in England

A new coast to coast path, The Cross Britain Way, from Boston in Lincolnshire through to Barmouth on the Welsh coast, is being launched this week. 57 miles of the long distance path will run through Shropshire - the most path miles of any of the counties on the route.

Free Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Festival

The free Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Festival, which is supported by Telford & Wrekin Council, will be taking place this year on Saturday, 20th September 2014, with heritage talks and walks, a fantastic high quality craft and food market, live street entertainment and family activities from 12noon until 5pm. The day's events will be followed by an early evening premier of Past Lives at Enginuity in Coalbrookdale starting at 6pm.

75 years on – the story behind Hampden P1344’s final flight

The Handley Page Hampden Bomber P1344 (PL-K), currently undergoing conservation at the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford will be subject of a lecture taking place on Tuesday 5 September 2017. The lecture will be presented by the Museum’s Conservation Centre Manager who has personal experience working to restore the aircraft and with former crew and family members. The evening lecture will include details of the dramatic story behind its final flight, which took place exactly 75 years earlier, plus a behind the scenes look at how the aircraft looks today!
