Shropshire Attractions

Below are just a few of the attractions in Shropshire, England.

Acton Burnell Castle

The red sandstone shell of a semi fortified tower house built in 1284-93 by Bishop Burnell Edward I's Lord Chancellor. Parliaments were twice held here in 1283 and 1285.

Newport Town Council

Newport is a thriving and picturesque market town, located 10 miles from Telford and 15 miles from Stafford. In 2014 it was awarded a ‘Gold’ medal from the Heart of England in Bloom competition for the quality of its floral displays.

The Wrekin

Seek the spiritual heart of Shropshire and you'll find the Wrekin. The Wrekin plays an important role in Shropshire folk-lore. To us it represents home, and we love it.

Bridgnorth Town Hall

Bridgnorth Town Hall is a black and white building erected in 1650. In the 16th Century the view up the High Street would have been uninterrupted. In the centre of the street would have been the High Cross, otherwise known as a Market Cross. Opposite the top of Hungry Street, now St Mary’s Street, stood the 'New House', a raised building containing the office of the town's chief magistrates. On the ground floor was the public wool market.

Wenlock Priory

Wenlock Priory, with it's stunning clipped topiary, has a pastoral setting on the edge of lovely Much Wenlock.

Arley Arboretum & Gardens

Arley Arboretum & Gardens provides the ideal day out for you and your family, a dream escape from the bustle of everyday life. There is plenty to do for all ages from the Italian garden with its fountain, to the Themed Trails and maze. Our Peacocks are also a splendid sight wandering around the gardens.
