Classic Motor Day

Free event & a great family day out. All categories of classic vehicles are invited to attend, from cars, motorbikes & tractors (for the first time this year) & more. 

Riverside walk to Trimpley Reservoir and Eymore Wood (8 miles)

17th July 2017 - 17th July 2017

Enjoy a walk along the river to Trimpley and on through Eymore Wood. Returning along the top of the valley with good views of the Shropshire countryside. Booking essential for all walks. Meet at 9.15am for a 9.30am start. Please wear walking boots and bring a packed lunch and drink

Tile Decorating Workshop at Jackfield Tile Museum

Join a drop-in tile decorating workshop between 10am and 3.30pm and try the tube lining technique to produce your own ceramic masterpiece; you could make a collection of coasters, a circular door plaque or a gift for a loved one on a heart shaped tile. Activities vary from day-to-day; tiles cost from £5 each and can be fired and sent home later for a small extra charge to cover postage and packing. It takes up to 1½ hours to decorate your tile so last admission to the workshops is 2pm.    

Cosford Food Festival

Glen Miller Open Air Concert

Bishop's Castle Party in the Park

Party in the Park returns again for its eighth year in Bishop’s Castle with continuous music from some great bands and musicians until late. A great opportunity for up and coming young musicians in Bishop’s Castle and the surrounding area. There will also be workshops for the children, Soft Play area, children's games, fairground rides, Caricaturist, face painting and more…Plenty of food and drink will be avaialble with a Vintage Tea Stall, Beer Tent, Freshly made Pizzas, great BBQ food, Vegetarian food and ice creams.

Prison Escape

Think you have what it takes to escape an actual prison? Now you can find out. Prisoners have the day to attempt to escape, the first challenge will be getting out of your cell. If you managed this you will then have to navigate around the site, avoiding officers and any prisoners who might ‘grass you up’. You will need to use all of your cunning to decide which is the best route out of the prison site and timing will be the key to success.

A Night in the Dana - Prison Sleepover

Immersive Events, in conjunction with Jailhouse Tours, are bringing you the only way to spend a night in a cell! That is, without a prison sentence!! These one off ‘Night in A Cell’ events are a bit of a change to your usual hotel or hostel stays, adding an extra dimension to your Shrewsbury and Shropshire visits.

The Big Butterfly Count

Learn about out butterfly garden and the plants you nees at home to attract butterflies and find out more about how you can get involved.

Historic Shrewsbury Walking Tour

Discover world-class stained glass and traces of the Civil War in this walking tour of historic Shrewsbury. Our visits will take in the former Benedictine monastery of Shrewsbury Abbey and the imposing medieval Church of St Mary the Virgin, finishing at St Chad’s to admire its medley of architectural styles.
