Summer Holiday Events at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre - first week of family activities a real success with more to come throughout the holidays.

Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre had a busy first week of the summer holidays with their family activities all booked up, children got the chance to make a house of sticks to see if it could stand the wolf’s huffing and puffing in the family activity aptly named ‘Three Little Pigs’. The children were then given a sweet treat toasting marshmallows on a campfire.

A different family activity will run each week, Tuesday – Friday, next week children between the ages of 3 and 11 will experience life two thousand years ago; light a fire to cook food, paint faces with woad and try out a slingshot.

Visitors to the Discovery Centre will also be able to have a go at shooting a few arrows next Wednesday 30th July 11am – 3pm, £2 a go. Bowman of Caradoc will bring all their archery kit inviting visitors to have a go at archery, they will also demonstrate how to shoot a longbow.
