Dorothy Clive Garden is to host an open-air production of Robin Hood this Summer The Dorothy Clive Garden is to host an open-air production of 'Robin Hood' on Tuesday 5th August 2014 performed by the touring theatre company Illyria. This fast moving, easy to follow play, will be performed at 6pm on the tearoom lawn in a beautiful 12 acre garden setting and is aimed at children and families.

Illyria’s production is adapted from the earliest Robin Hood ballads pre-dating Chaucer – which makes it as authentic as Robin Hood legends come! The play introduces all the well-loved characters such as Little John, Friar Tuck, Maid Marian and King Richard. It is a collection of tales featuring camaraderie, swashbuckling action, and riotous comedy. First performed in 2007, it remains one of Illyria’s most popular ever titles. You’ll definitely laugh, you’ll probably cry – and if you’re not cheering at the archery competition involving the entire audience then you must be dead.

The performance, which is suitable for children aged 5 plus, will take place outdoors in the 12 acre visitor attraction, commencing at 6.00pm until 8pm. Running time (approx): 1hr 50mins (including 20 minute interval).

Gates are open from 5pm and visitors are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets & low back folding chairs to enjoy the open air production.

The garden tearoom will be open where visitors can buy icecream, cakes and cream teas plus a range of cold and hot drinks.
