FAMILY FAVOURITES ATTRACT HUGE NUMBERS TO THE SEVERN VALLEY RAILWAY Around 4,000 visitors flocked to the Severn Valley Railway this weekend to see children's favourites Peppa Pig and George alongside awe-inspiring steam engines and enjoy a packed programme of exciting family activities.

During this year’s Family Fun Weekend on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th May, families enjoyed a heritage steam train ride along the Severn Valley and a visit to The Engine House Visitor Centre, Highley, where Peppa and George made personal appearances at intervals on both days.

There was a also a wealth of family fun on offer along the line, including a kids’ disco, inflatable play areas, plus magic shows, fun art & craft workshops and face painting.

Severn Valley Railway’s marketing and communications manager, Clare Gibbard, said: “This year’s event was a huge success – Peppa Pig & George once again proved a popular attraction! The feedback from visitors has been incredibly positive and it was great to see families enjoying themselves and making the most of what the Railway has to offer.”

Flight simulation event heads to Cosford
