Christmas menu for the Castle Hotel in Bishop's Castle Served lunch or dinner:


All starters are served with homemade bread

  • Curried parsnip & apple soup
  • Homemade Cornish potted crab
  • Twice baked goats cheese soufflé with port & cranberry compote
  • Wild boar, apricot & chestnut terrine with homemade piccalilli


All main courses are served with roast potatoes and a selection of winter vegetables

  • Roast Turkey with pork, tarragon & apricot stuffing, sausages in bacon & pan-gravy
  • Shropshire Game, red wine & wild mushroom pie
  • Leek, spinach & pine nut filo parcel with tomato & sweet chilli sauce
  • Herb crusted fillet of hake on a rustic vegetable casserole

Homemade Desserts

  •  The Castle Hotel Christmas pudding with brandy butter & cream
  • Apple & cinnamon crème brulee with homemade cinnamon shortbread
  • Steamed chocolate sponge pudding with hot chocolate custard
  • Vanilla ice-cream baked Alaska
  • A selection of local cheeses, biscuits, celery, grapes and homemade chutney (£2.50 Supplement)
